Required background check.
Southern California Conference requires volunteers and staff members—including coaches, board members, photographers, and team parents—to undergo a Live Scan background check.
Required documents
- CalVECHS Waiver Agreement. Circle “Volunteer,” complete the form, and upload it with your application. The waiver must be signed yearly.
- SCC Volunteer Application. Complete the application for your city or charter.
- SCC Live Scan Request Form. Use the form provided by SCC at your Live Scan appointment.
How the process works
- Obtain the SCC Live Scan Request Form.
- Visit a certified Live Scan provider. Provider fees vary.
- Bring the completed form and a valid, unexpired, state-issued photo ID.
- Your fingerprints are submitted electronically to the California Department of Justice.
- Keep your Live Scan receipt as proof of completion.
Wait for approval. You may not volunteer until your background check has been processed and approved by SCC's authorized Records Custodian.
After approval
SCC issues a photo badge valid for the current season. Badges remain SCC property and must be returned to the Charter President at the end of the season.
Leaving SCC?
Request closure of your Live Scan when you are no longer coaching or serving as a staff member.
